Celebrate sweater weather with a cinnamon canary tea made with fresh lemon, cinnamon, and honey.
Have you ever had a “canary” tea? My lovely sister-in-law usually refers to warm lemon water as a canary. I prefer sweeter drinks, so my take on the canary incorporates cinnamon and a touch of honey. This warm tea can soothe a cold, and boost your immune system. It’s also a great way to detoxify your body, and reduce inflammation.

Here’s the Canary Tea recipe
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 3 lemon slices
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon* (see note below)
- 1½ cups hot water
- Pour honey into a large tea cup or mug.
- Lay the lemon slices on top of the honey.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon on the lemon slices.
- Pour the hot water into the cup, and stir until the cinnamon is incorporated and the honey is dissolved. Cool for 1 minute, and stir again.
